packable rain jacketcmp

Anyone have experience with the "new breed" of lightweight cycling rain jackets that are made of material that is waterproof, breathes, and is packable? Two that I have seen are Castelli Lessi and Assos Clima, there are probably others as well. Looking for something I can wear in the Spring rain, and stick in my back pocket when the rain stops. Thanks in advance!

I have been thinking about the Assos Clima Micro. I have two questions: (1) How delicate is the jacket? I have seen the jacket on others and the membrane looks like it could rip easily. (2) Any recommendations for sizing? The jackets are sized I-II-III-IV rather than S-M-L-XL. I am 5'11" and 162 lbs. I have both the Assos Roubaix and Assos Airblock jackets in Large -- they fit perfectly.

take size III, it's a bit wide for rides in hard wind
it's more suited for summer-rides, because after 2 hours in the rain it's not longer waterproof and you'll have to let it dry. It's a more delicate fiber but it isn't rapidly ripped.

and so far its performed very well, in wet, and windy days. When not needed, I can stuff it into my rear pocket well enough, and the rear vent makes it fairly breathable! The material is a tightweave microfibre(Co. calls it Airblock!) I washed it, then sprayed it with revivex( goretex dwr treatment), then dried it for abit. I haven't worn it in long downpours, so longterm rainproofness isn't known; but coming back from one ride, it started raining hard, then turned to snow showers, and for over 40min it kept me dry, despite the fact that the jacket became saturated!
I bought it from Parker International, so far they have the best prices for Assos stuff.

Thanks for the advice! I just picked up a Ghibili jacket for only $79 from Branford Bike. It was a leftover size from last year, so it was discounted. Apparently, the new model is called Oxygen. This is a LOT cheaper than other options I was looking at, and I appreciate the bright yellow color for visibility.
I just got a Nalini Sinchi jacket.dzrider

It works well for light rain and the material is very comfortable. I've washed it and dried it on the line and it remained water proof, but I can't speak yet about it's durablility or if it would do well in a really heavy downpour. They still have some for < $30 at ProBikeKit, but only in black, not a color I'd choose for rainy day riding.

try boure. its a bit expensive ($90) but well worth it. it can easily fit into a seat pack or into one of the pockets on your jersey.
