Anyone ever sell or buy a bike (or anything else) using www.craigslist.com? Seems like a good way to sell a bike locally without having to deal with shipping . Just wandering - skeptical of scammers etc. Thanks

It's wonderful if you live in the bay area. I just bought my bike 3 weeks ago. Met the person, rode the bike and negotiated the price. Much better than Ebay... I'd personally never buy a bike without riding it first unless it was new.

I bought and sold many other things from craigslist... tools and electroincs mostly.

If you live in the SF Bay Area it's a great resource. I've sold several things on CL. It's a good local alternative for eBay, especially for things which have high shipping costs and low selling prices.

I bought a Eddy Merckx AX Titanium 1999 with full Dura-Ace (the latest), Mavic OP wheels, Speedplay x2 pedals, nice helmet, Sidi Genius 3 shoes, U-lock, wireless cyclocomputer, saddlebag with toolset all this for $1100. The bike was in mint condition with less than 500 miles. I paid no shipping. I test rod it on the spot. Made sure it was not stolen. All this at craigslist. Let's see if ebay can top that!!!
