It's got credible science to back it up. Increasing the glutathione levels is important. I tried it with good success in combo with St. John's Wort after I took myself off of Paxil. I think that if you look around for mild (even moderate) depression these types of remedies are effective. I took the time to really educate myself and sought advice from both my internist as well as a naturopathic doc. Even did some acupuncture which I feel helped too.

I've used it before for depression. It worked better than St. John's Wort, had no noticealbe side effects, but was not as potent as prescription drugs. However, can't guarantee the effects will be the same for everyone, since everyone reacts differently to medications. As for arthritis, I didn't notice any effects on my joints.
