Im thinking of switching to "latest post".

An aside, if you are on dialup..this forum is painfully slow.
The little gray tool bar right above you're post. nmDave Hickey

Try opening several sessions - I am on a phone modem and use 6 simultaneous sessions. That way, one session is opening while I am reading, posting, searching the others. I start with 4 General and 2 Component sessions, and then as I complete reading those, I shift them to either Racing or Fitness & Nutrition. I just index through them and by the time I am done reading/posting the last session, the first one is updated. I just leave them sorted as Latest Topic.

who would have guessed that one of this forum's most informed and informative members would be so handicapped in his connection.

makes your helpful presence even more appreciated, knowing that you work at it.

Like I said, with six sessions open, I "see" no delays (typical connect speed is 44K). Call it a workaround, but it avoids the expense, etc. of cable.

For us, the cost of cable is about the same as dialup, since I do a lot of work out of the house and need a dedicated phone line that can't be tied up by the computer.

But the real reason for broadband is so I can access the latest info and pictures of bikes at blazing speeds.
Unfortunately...i have no other options in my neighborhood. (:-(WCC
