can you discuss headtube angle, does that have any direct bearing on reach (STA, TT being equal)? Further, how about HT length, any effect on drop?

Head tube angle has no significant impact on reach.

Head tube length has a major effect on the vertical drop to the bars (BB height also has an effect). Buy a frame with a short head tube and you'll get a big drop to the bars. I'd never buy a frame without knowing the head tube length.

Head tube length can also affect the reach to the bars if the head tube is extended beyond a normal amount so that it acts in the same manner as a steering tube spacer. In this case, extra length would decrease the reach by .29 times the amount of the extension.
