Anybody have any experience with these? I have a chance to buy new for $270, a $600 value so they say. These are bikes that were to be given away as a promotion with new vehicles. There are a few left and they are being offered to employees for a discount. I'm wondering if this would be a good commuter/beater bike.

Sorry, I don't have any direct experience with them, but the armchair paratrooper in me has wanted one of the military versions ever since I read a review a few months ago.

I don't know which model you're talking about, but you can compare prices at http://www.folding-bike.com/orderform.htm to see if it's really a $600 value. All Montague bikes are fairly inexpensive, so a $600 bike is near their top end (maybe even the military version).

Thanks for your response...I did research it a bit and from the photo it appears to be the MX, listing for around $550.
