Using Eggbeaters for road bike duty?Fez

I bought Eggbeaters for those leisurely rides where I might have to get off and walk a little, but here are the problems:

1. Much too easy to release. Release tension is not adjustable, but I have the cleats positioned for greater release angle. Even so, I feel as though I just turn my ankle slightly while pedaling and they release. Wtf?

2. No platform on these. Hotspot problems?

I'm not expecting a lot, but these seem real inappropriate for road bike use. I usually ride Time Equipes.

I'm a smaller rider, so I did not have problems with hot spots. likewise, I did not find the release tension too low. I'd surmise you're a bigger and/or much stronger rider. the hotspots can be partly corrected with stiff soles. I rode them for four months before putting them on the MTB and cross bike.
