Feet sliding around in pedals, help?(3 posts)

Feet sliding around in pedals, help?timfire

I recently swapped pedals with a friend. I traded my old 1-sided SPD road pedals (Wellgo, I think) for his dual-sided MTB SPD pedals (Shimano M515). I quickly noticed that the cleat slides forward and backwards under the bindings, particularly when I'm riding hard. I asked my friend about it and his response was, "You just get use to it."

Is there anything I can do about it? Am I using the wrong cleat? (I thought all SPD cleats were pretty much the same.)

Thanks,

If you are using the same cleats that you got with the wellgo pedals, that is most likely the problem. I had the same problem with ritchey and shimano pedals. Make sure you have the right cleats and you should be good. The shimano pedals have a little play, but it should not be that noticable.
Agree, cleats not compatible.(nm)Spunout
