Clydesdale Clothing, or Outerwear for Big Riders?Ogalthorpe

Anyone know of clothing MFRs that make clothing that fits larger riders? I'm 6'0" ~290, chest is about 52 and waist is about 42(I buy 44s). I'm not grossly obese, just built like a football player. So far the only clothing that seems to fit is the Performance brand. This leaves my choices limited to their line. I recently purchased Castelli bib shorts. They fit ok, but the bib isn't quite tall enough. Right now I'm looking for some winter bib tights with wind protection and maybe a chamois.

Any tips are greatly appreciated.

-Thanks

I used to be relegated to performance wear myself because of my large frame. Most of the euro gear is made for a much smaller rider. A couple of years or so I started riding as many miles a week as I could fit into my schedule... and you know what happened? My 42 waist went to a 40, and then a 38, and now I am a 34. I too was built like a football player, but the more miles I rode, the more weight I lost. I didn't even really change my diet, or quit drinking the large amounts of beer I still consume, I just started logging 150 miles a week on the trainer and road. I know this is prob. not the answer you were looking for. But the fact of the matter is that most cycling gear, especially the euro kits, are not made for larger riders.

...I'm about 4 inches taller than you are, and 3 inches smaller around the chest. Cycling's a sport of midgets--I rode for 20 years in tennis shoes because nobody made size 15 cycling shoes.

Boure will make clothes to fit. I have a paire of custom tights and a custom bibs that I'm happy with.
