At present I ride a Dean El Diente...it is NOT light!...any clue as to a lightweight/ stiff roadbike frame that won't break the bank? I enjoy the feel of Ti, but I never expected the frame to be about 4 lbs. I would like to keep the cost in the $1000 ballpark...so, you weightweenies, suggest ahead....it's my winter project.

If I was building a weight weenie bike I'd probably go with the Titus Drop U. US-built and very light, and Titus is known for their quality and great customer service (hugely popular with mtbers).

I think they retail for around $700 but this guy should sell them cheaper.

Otherwise maybe a Giant TCR or something... Sounds like a fun project. Enjoy!
