Ok, i know the racers use the hardest, lightest, and probably most uncomfortable saddles available, and the straggler riders ride on the biggest, heaviest, saddles available. So far i'v checked out the stock san macro postal on my bike, and a selle trans am max (with a cut out) because i had pressure problems and still do

what are some good sugestions for a decent racer type saddle that is still comforable??

I still had some pressure problems with the Flite Gelflow (cut out) as well. It wasn't all that bad but not good enough. After that I switched to the SLR Trans Am. I found it to be a huge improvement. The shape of the shell (slightly cupped around your sit bones) and flex especially in the center is an enormous relief. I'd say it's worth a try if you're one of those notorious sufferers (like me) from pressure in "that" certain area.

I'm having a hard time findig a yellow, gel Turbomatic. But there are lots of Flites or flite gels available....are the saddles noticibly different?? Anyone used both?? Thanks. Paul to Ebay again to try to find my turbo....been outbid by a $1.00 twice recently....

amazingly (because they look painful) the new SLR with extra padding has the best shape of any saddle i have ridden... its flat and broad in all the right places and its easy to find a bunch of different positions on... the new flites feel to me like i am sitting on the top tube of the bike...
the old flites are nearly pefect too.
Flites: is there a difference?DaveG

Is there a difference in shape and padding between older flites and current models (other than all the embroidery)? I just tried my first Flite but its a couple of years old. What's different about the new ones?
Nope, just the embroidery, Gel, cutouts, etc. (nm)Spunout

Selle Italia website shows 2003 Flites without the embroideryDaveG

The new 2003 photos on the site seem to show they have toned down the stitching on several models. Why anyone thought that all that short-wearing, butt-chaffing stitching was a good thing is beyond me.

I have used the following: Brooks, Fizik Poggio and Fizik Aliante. All have been very comfortable.
