| Highlands Ranch, Colorado cyclist killed - Any news? | sacheson Nov 12, 2002 11:21 AM | | I just heard a rumor that a cyclist was killed 11/11/2002 on Highland's Ranch parkway. I can't find anything on local news channel or newspaper web sites, and am wondering if anyone has any information. |

For those who know, HR Pkwy (to my knowledge) has an ample bike lane. Any loss is horrible, this is absurd. |

| Guilty till proven innocent ...EH? | Rusty Coggs Nov 12, 2002 3:26 PM | | No way the cyclist might have done something stoopid? Something I see it all the time. |
| Jumping to conclusions? | sacheson Nov 13, 2002 8:40 AM | | The guy hasn't been proven guilty ... I read that a) it's horrible that a life has been lost and b) the frequency of these things happening when an SUV is involved is rather high. |
| Jumping to conclusions? | laffeaux Nov 13, 2002 10:56 AM | | Maybe the percentage of accidents involving SUVs is high, because the percentage of SUVs on the road is high?
Wait for the facts before assigning blame. |
| commute along there sometimes.. | dotkaye Nov 12, 2002 3:39 PM | | there's 6 lanes for traffic and a good bike lane in both directions. It's not usually very busy, though most drivers significantly exceed the supposed 45mph limit. Always thought that was one of the safer roads.. hum. |
