Question for those who have swapped threadless stems...Fez

I just noticed that all stems do not have the same dimension (height) where they clamp to the steerer. According to QBP catalog, they can vary from 34mm to 51mm height.

So when you change models of stem, do you commonly find you need to readjust spacers to compensate for the varying height where the stem clamps to the steerer?

You are correct. The stem height varies as well as does the angle. For example, on one of my bikes I've got an alter 80 degree. Due to the height and angle, my bar is slightly higher with 1cm of spacer than on another ride with a different stem and 1.5cm of spacers.

I now have several "spare" spacers as a result of my stem swapping, both silver and black (no nifty carbon spacers yet).

I've got a Klein MC3 stem, does anyone know what angle that is? 84 I believe. Entirely aggressive.
