What type of lube should I use for speedplay x2s? And where is a good place (besides a bike shop) to pick up a needle nose grease injector?

Thanks,
RBM

Slick 50 (waterproof) grease, and I bought a 'Chainsaw lube tip' at the hardware store for about $3 to fit onto my grease gun...works great. (I guess any good waterproof grease would work....)
Good grease and a good hardware storeKerry

You can get needle grease injectors at any good hardware store or well-stocked automotive supply store. Any good grease will do. My current favorite is Slick 50 One Grease, but there are other good greases on the market. One advantage of the Slick 50 is that it is available in places like WalMart, so it's MUCH cheaper than what you can get in a bike shop. It's a real good grease as well.
Anyone use Slick 50 grease in wheel bearings or other uses? -nmTig

You can use Sta Lube Marine grease. It's what Speedplay uses as well. Shouldn't be difficult to find and it's cheap too. It's also excellent for hubs, headsets, bottom brackets, etc.

I've been using waterproof marine grease (don't know the brand) that I bought at home depot. It was 4 cartridges for about $5 or so. I lube the pedals 1-2 times a year and they are still going strong. I've been using the same pair for 5+ years now and all that I have changed are the cleats.

I too use marine grease. It has some additives to prevent corrosion that I think helps and it does last. I have injected this grease into my boat trailer wheel bearings and they have lasted for many years. Another advantage of the marine grease is it comes in small cartridges for the smaller lube gun so you don't have to have the large gun to store.
