I've got a promising lead on a job in the San Clemente area so I'm wondering what the riding/racing is like in that region. Any comments would be appreciated!

Oh, and I'm assuming the weather is decent, at least compared to the lovely Midwest.

I actually live in San Diego, but go up to San Clemente on occassion. It's a very nice area, but like so much of Southern California, becoming for too overcrowded. But the biking is good, lots of beach front riding and hills, too. There's great opportunities for both road and mountain bikes. If you can afford to live there, you can't miss.

I live a bit north of Orange County, But have ridden there a couple of times and really enjoyed it....
Check with the Orange County Wheelmen, they can get you the skinny on the local riding....
