Sorry, couldn't help myself.....I'm a marine geophysicist for an
oceanographic survey company in So. New England.

I have a BA in Geology, and worked for the Colorado Geological Survey for 4 years before leaving the industry for the doomed Tech world.

Have fun looking into the ocean depths. It's a truly fascinating science that few appreciate.

Folks,

Happy to here from some fellow Rock Apes that get around on 2 wheels! I'm a Geophysicist working in Brisbane Australia - processing seismic data for oil and gas exploration. I even get to punch out 30km on the bike at lunch time!

Ride Safe,

Do you have any good training ideas for a Geo stuck offshore on a seismic crew. I skip rope and use a stationary bike. Just looking for something else to mix up the routine?

i hadnt realized that the geo-militia had just a 'large' claim to rbr.com. im finishing up my BS in geology this spring, before going to field camp. anyone have any comments from being in the field for jobs? im thinking of doing an MS in geophysics.
