|I noticed that all summer I was experiencing a constant ringing in my ears. Now that I've curtailed my riding the last few weeks it has gone away.Is this something anybody else has experienced? Is this a common problem among cyclists that I haven't heard about.Any information would be appreciated.|

|Among other causes, it can be related to blood pressure. I'm just guessing that with a curtailment of cycling your blood pressure has declined?
I don't think it's common among cyclists per se but there is a significant minority of people (myself included) who suffer this affliction - it's called tinitus. (tin-eye-tuss)
I wouldn't run to a doctor to get it checked but I would make a point the next time you're there to ask about it. It can be a sign of other problems as well - like ear infections.
In my case is continuous and has been there since childhood. I don't know what quiet sounds like.

|It is something that is not easily treated. Another cause can be too much alcohol and/or degrees of anxiety as well.|
