|My question is about leg development in general but specifically on a trainer over the winter. What's the best way to develop the calves? Is there a specific position or style of cadience that would help work them a little harder? Thanks in advance.|

|If you find that cycling alone will not accomplish your goal do toe raises. Simply find a stair, place the balls of your feet on the stair, dip you heels below the stair and go up and down (keep your balance). You can always add weight with hand held weights or a bar.
By the way, how is the Lovely Elizabeth?

|This is the muscle that pulls your toes up and is critical for a good pedal stroke. The best way to work this is to try to keep your heel flat to the floor and your toes up. You should naturally ankle and this will work your anterior tib as well as your hamstrings.
