My strap stopped working I think it might be the battery. Is it possible to replace it without sending it back to polor? Is it possible to do without voiding any warranty?

From what I can tell it's sealed in. You'd have to cut open the strap to access it.

I'd recommend not changing the battery by yourself. First, it voids the warranty. Second, I've had the same HR from Polar for nine years, had the battery replaced twice. Each time they replace the battery, they do performance checks on the transmitter and receiver. The last time (last year as a matter of fact), they notified me that the transmitter had cracks in it. They replaced it for a reasonable $20 and threw in the replacement strap for free. Their customer service is excellent, and the turnaround is usually within five to seven working days. I don't own stock or have friends that work there, I guess I'm just a very satisfied customer.

the strap is sealed. Either send it to Polar for a replacement or buy a cheap off-brand strap. Most are interchangeable.

But wait! Are you sure it's not the battery in the receiver watch? I've had a Polar Favor since 1996. The transmitter battery in the strap is certainly due to a replacement, but so far it's always been the receiver battery, which you can get at Radio Shack and replace with a jeweler's screwdriver.

The instruction manual that came with my (older)POLAR gives instructions for replacing the battery in the transmitter strap and watch. Although delicate, I have done it several times without any problems. Sounds like with newer models that is not what is recommended? Best to follow the instructions for your model.

Send it back to the manufacturer, they will do a waterproof test and change the batteries.
