Looking for a decent stretch of road to get a few rides on, as I will be there for work all next week.
Would appreciate it if anyone knows of a cycling friendly area. I will be staying in the Deerfield/Beacon Hill area just north of I85.

Thanks~

Hey,
I live exactly an hour north of where you will be. I go there all the time and its an easy, beautiful ride. If you would like, I ride everyday and could introduc you to some fun group rides around Asheville. The foliage is great right now and there are better road rides here than Greenville. Let me know
ride there several times a yeartarwheel

My inlaws live in Greenville, so I ride there from time to time. On the weekends, lots of cyclists meet near the chapel at Furman University and ride up to Saluda, NC, and back. It's about 65 miles and a great ride, mostly uphill up to Saluda, and then a fast downhill coming back. Last time I did this ride, we passed George Hincapie (going the opposite direction), who owns a home in the Greenville area and trains there from time to time. For more info on Greenville area rides, check the website for the local bike club: www.greenvillespinners.org. Sunshine cycles is a good bike shop in N. Greenville, and I think they sponsor some rides as well.

It is the hilliest Road in Greenville and is an easy ride from just about anywhere. Buy a map at a gas station and plot your route accordingly. there is also a HUGE group ride on Tuesdays at the Donaldson Industrial Park, It used to leave at 6, but I don't know what time now that it is getting dark at that time.
