Weight Survey - The Averages: Or A REALLY SLOW DAY(19 posts)

Weight Survey - The Averages: Or A REALLY SLOW DAYBrianNYC

Weight - 96 responses - Average 178.5 lbs

Height - 91 responses - Average 70.22 inches.

The averages do not take gender into account, so what they might mean? Who knows. I also don't know if I put all the data in correctly, nor am I going to check.

If I had SPSS I could do a full regression analysis, or not.

Enjoy
Slow enough day to tell us what the means are? nmPdxMark

taking gender into accountSpoiler

My guess is that the average gender would be male, while the remainder would be mostly female.

Average Gender?BrianNYC

Not sure what that is - just joking, I understand your point. You can only guess really, two responses were 5'2 and 100lbs, I assume they are women, but after that, we would be getting into some pretty un-PC territory regarding stereotypical gender body assumptions, and that is just not worth the agro of any debate it might start.
So, what you're saying is -look271

The "avg" RBR poster is a 178.5 lbs, 5'10", average male but mostly average female? Hmm........
Mostly average female @ 5'10" 178.5? Ladies? nmrwbadley

Weren't you the one that posted something about people screaming at you riding to Stone Mtn? Hmmm, maybe you are special. :-)
yeah, that was me._rt_

i think i figured out why though. i ended up on a road that isn't really part of the route (but does lead out to stone mtn). which may have had something to do with people yelling at me.....that, and i am special. ;-)

Yep, must be specialkatie1

I have three different ways I ride to Stone Mountain (only one follows that death path). The neighborhood kids must not like me as much in spandex, must be because I below average, huh?
everyone's special in their own way_rt_

i'ts just a matter of perspective....at least that's what my mom keeps telling me. and she wouldn't lie to me, right? ;-P

i figured there must be multiple routes out to Stone mtn. i think i'm going to try to avoid the death path unless i'm with other "special" people.

If you ever want a girl's day out to Stone Mtn, let me know.

i'll lend it to you for a small fee! ;-)

i think you've got some serious outliers in that data.....me, for example, as both the lightest (by at least 30 lbs) and shortest (by at least 3") respondant, i probably skewed that mean in an unfortunate way.....perhaps you should have included standard deviations.

revise & resubmit for further review please.

rt - hmm, i've obviously spent waaaay too much time in academics
Yup, you have :-) nmBrianNYC
