|Mavic rim recommendations||tronracer|

|Anyone have any comparison experiences...I tried to search online, but the cxp21's are no longer available on mavic's site. What's the difference? I will be building them onto 36 hole dura ace track hubs and I'm a light rider. Any build recommendations? They will be used mainly on the city streets. Thanks for any input.|

|Trexlertown was productive indeed. I decided to forgoe the chrome, road frame in lieu of this track frame. Any suggestions on the build? Red cxp33 rims or cxp21 ice blue rims?|

|I would vote for red, black, or silver cxp33. You just can't go wrong with 'em.

|There wasn't as much track stuff as I thought there would be. It was like any other swap, only bigger. And about the rims guys...I know the cxp33's are "better", they cost twice as much, but what are the differences? For example...I can get the cxp 21's in ice blue for 20 apiece and the cxp33's for 43 apiece. I was thinking either the ice blue21's or red cxp33's. So I have to weigh the aesthetic pros with the practical ones.
Incidentally, I had the privilege of meeting the infamous Spirito. I over heard someone say his real name and I thought why does that name sound familiar and it hit me..."you're uh..uh..on road bike review." He said "Spirito." I said "Tronracer, nice to meetcha." Pretty funny coincidence. Hey Spirito...Any aesthetic advice on the build?

|yeah, ..... i met you and John P. at the same time ... very cool and i did think it kinda funny even though it was always a chance.
cxp21's are ok rims but cxp33's will make a better wheel. knowing that you are looking to keep costs down i would suggest perhaps building with the best silver rims you can stretch for and to use blue tires. that way you can still use the wheels for perhaps the next project and save a little down the road ........
at the end of the day of course go with what you feel is best. i personally dont like to save money on wheels and would rather a cheap seat post or smaller parts. i would class ma3's as being a better wheel than cxp21's but it always depends on who built them as most rims are OK.
the giordana looks neat. whereas before you were looking to dress chrome with blue parts i would think the blue frameset would be better shown with silver parts. again, i stress that your feel for this is foremost and that to go with your vibe with regards to build.
before you jump ahead on building the wheels email me as i might have some track hubs that would interest you. italian goes best with italian and now that we've met i can make you a hub swap offer you cant refuse. old skool italian style that John P. would approve of and i have no probs sending them your way so you can check them out before making a decision - no rush .... i was planning to sit on these for a while anyway.
my e-adress is changing soon so email@example.com should be fine to use as the old one may be dropped tomorrow as apple are getting greedy.
take your time and build the bike you want to keep rather than build it to ride tomorrow. always worth it in the long run.
