| American Classic 420 rims and the generation 5 hubs | kestrel guy Oct 11, 2002 5:35 AM | | Has anyone seen or tried the new 420 rims and the new generation 5 hubs out yet? I heard that the newest gen 5 hubs are fool proof! I saw them at the trade show and the tech guy showed me how simple and easy it was to use the hubs and strip them down, in under 2 minutes! He showed the me the 420 rims, 420 grams for a 34mm deep rim! Impressive! Thanks Mike at Am Classic for the demo at the show. Any body had good or bad experiences with the gen 5 or the 420's, I would like to get a set. |

I am glad to hear you like them, they looked ultra nice at the show. |

I don't imagine I'll be abusing them in 20 crits and lots of practice races a year on these for 6 or 7 years in a row.
I have one knock on their workmanship. I do not like to see mating seams, which I do. One rim is a little worse than the other. They weren't $900 either. |
