|How are they holding up? Are they any good? Stiffness?
As you guys can tell I am looking for a set of wheels to finish of my winter/crit racer and don't want to spend to much money.
The Velocity web site says that the 20/24 spoke count are made for heavier riders. And that's exactly what Supergo has for very cheap. This is very tempting and need some advise.

|Yep. Have them on my steel IF Crown Jewel. When I got the bike built, the shop offered me a choice of hand built Mavics (Open Pros? I forgot) or the Spartaci (Spartacuses?) for the same price. I wanted something different (and the red/yellow stickers matched my frame perfectly). Here's my 8-month, 2,000-mile impressions:
1. A bit heavy, but I've slammed potholes without tweaking them. That's a good sign for a factory wheel.
2. They don't accelerate as fast as I might like, but I think that's a function of where the weight is (the rims vs. a higher spoke count).
3. They roll nicely once I'm up to speed. (I'm sure the aero rims make me a better rider, too!)
Seriously, the shop owner said that vs. "conventional" 32 spoke wheels they'd be a little less "snappy" when accelerating, so that would lead me to believe that they wouldn't be the best crit wheels.
Also, my wife gets a kick out of the name! I humor her by growling "I am SPARTACUS" before i head out on rides...
