|Great experience on my morning ride||CKS|

|I had a great ride this morning, up Angeles Crest and back to Pasadena, 30 mi, ~10 of which is climbing, total ride takes about 2 hrs. I leave at 5am, and it gets light about 6:20, in time for the final stretch to the top of the climb. The sunrise always puts me into a great mood. There's a fair amount of commuter traffic on the descent, which is a windy mtn road, and while I cruise at ~40mph, cars still pass me on the straights.
Near the bottom, I glanced over at one of the cars passing me, and saw the driver with a grin give me a big thumbs up. That kind of thing makes a great ride even better!

|One of my best rides ever was with my in-laws up the Angeles Crest to the Mt. Wilson observatory and back down, but your doing it at 5 am. sounds scary to me. The last time I was in California, the family thought it was too dangerous to go riding up there in general. Glad to hear you are successful and safe with it. Good luck.|| |
