I'm looking for info on a Panasonic Grand Touring 15 speed bicycle. It has a Champion No. 2 Butted Tubes, pedals are Sugino GT , Brakes Diacomp 500, Rims Shimano Araya 27x1 1/4. This bike was given to me and is in great shape and isa wonderful ride. Serial no. is 4F05964. How old is this bike? how much did it cost new? How much is it worth today? Thanks

It's likely from the early '80s

Probably cost between $300-$400

And you will not be able to sell it for what it's worth today. Might get $75 for it. But it's a nice bike and 'worth' more than that. Suntour Cyclone derailleurs? It's a keeper. Just keep it.

of this bike hanging in my garage right now. I bought it at a police auction around 1974 ($25?). I had the chain side dropout replaced and rode it for many years. It's a great touring bike. It's going to be my winter project. I'll be converting it to a single speed. With it's horizontal dropouts and narrow spacing it should be perfect. Other than being a good frame (nicely lugged) it's not worth alot today. Just ride it and enjoy it.

Mel, thanks for the info, I've put on about 5000 miles on it over the last 2 years and it's been a great ride. When I got it, it still had the original tires. Thanks again, Jonathan
