what could this bike possible have that makes so good. No CF seat stays, the aluminium alloy that its made of cannot be so different from the other 20 varieties that exist. Even the geometry of the tubes seems pretty standard. I'm skeptical to believe it rides much different than other aluminium frames out there.

I presume onespeed will weigh in on the merits of the Merak.

Personally, I think it LOOKS gorgeous (that red and blue
one is awesome) and the blue/black one also has a sort of
understated look that's just right. IMHO.

As far as ride quality, handling, etcetera - I can't tell
you. I've never seen one in person much less ridden one.

And I also read somewhere that the prospective Merak rider
has to be less than 170 pounds or the frame will collapse
or some ridiculous thing. Any truth to that?

How much does the frame weigh? It couldn't weigh any less
than the TCR aluminum frames (2.2-2.3 lbs) or could it?

Tell all!

frame weighs 1.1kg. it is a very comfortable bike (my personal opinion).
