Looking for RED Mavic Open Pro 32 hole rims.Ken of Fresno

Anybody know where I can find a pair? I suppose finding them at a good price would be asking too much, but one can always hope.

Thanks,
Ken

Excel used to have a bunch of these they were selling cheap, but I haven't seen the ad for some time so they might be out. Probably worth checking into though.

It was the red CXP33s that Excel had on closeout (nm)jtolleson

I think only black, blue, silver, and ceramic are made these days (they dropped red).

yes ... both make red low profle rims .....

20 odd grams heavier than mavics for either but am very happy with my FIR's.

looking for a set of gold clincher rims for a little project - mavic used to make 'em but boy is it proving difficult to find some....

ciao

I've seen the hubs and now I know what color rims. What are you going to put these on? Buy the way Spirito, you're falling into a trap. I thought this project was because you wanted an "everyday" bike that you could leave anywhere. This is sounding almost a special as the Merckx.

No luck so far. I might just go with CPX 33s in red. I wonder if the handling or road feel would be any different. I love my Open Pros, but they're getting a little beat up, and I've got this red thing goin' on now.

Thanks,
Ken

I really like the looks of the Heliums, but I'm a bigger guy and am worried about the low spoke count. Also, I kinda want to go new.

Thanks
Ken, have you tried...Dave Hickey

Running a "wanted to buy" in rec.bicycles.marketplace? I'm sure there is someone that has them in 32h red. I place an ad for new old stock 1990 Dura Ace track parts and received many replies.
Hey, now that's an idea!Ken of Fresno

I may just try that if I don't go with CPXs.
