A question on speedplay cleats.ol

What is the average life expectancy of a speedplay cleat?Considering that I ride about 150-200 mile a week, reasonably look after them and use the cleat covers.

How long the cleat last depends on how you maintain it and how much slop you are willing to live with.

The main parts that wear are the wire spring and the outermost aluminum surface layer of the cleat assembly. I keep a close watch on the spring and replace it when a flat spot develops since it is quite a bit cheaper to replace the spring than the entire cleat assembly. Also try not to walk around too much on the cleat or you will walk through the aluminum plate.
