I feel crappy today, and my HR is up around 15% over normal (usually low 50s, lowest I saw today was 60). when do I start training again?
most of the cold is in my head, although I am coughing a bit. can I re-start as soon as the chest symptoms recede and the HR goes down to below 10% over normal? I was hoping to do the cross race this weekend.
Train enought to work up a light sweatPODIUMBOUNDdotCA

My recommendation is to either 1) take the time off completely and get as much rest/sleep as possible or 2) decrease your volume considerable train enough to work up a light sweat making sure to keep nice and warm. So if your riding just ride in your aerobic zone for about half an hour. If you do weights go into the weight room do a normal 5 mins or so warmup then do the weights lifting about 75% of your normal doing fewer sets as well.

Both ways drink plenty of fluids and eat well. Chicken soup really can help since its warm and brings up the body temp as well.

Hope you feel better! Being sick is no fun...
