Oxford, PA area riders?mleptuck

I'm fairly new around RBR, and I'm fairly new to road biking as well (took it up in earnest this past April, and have logged nearly 1100 miles since then).

Anyway, I live in the Oxford, PA area (near where DE, MD and PA all come together) and have been developing some good-length rides over the past couple of months (several combinations of 15-20 mile loops; I can make rides fom 15 to about 60 miles in length, all moderately hilly and very scenic, IMHO).

Now, I'm looking for some mid-level cyclists (I'm not Lance, but by the same token, I don't believe I'm a complete beginner, either) in the area to ride with now that I'm comfortable on my bike and with the area.

Anyone out the in my area who's looking for a riding partner or an addition to an existing group? Let me know.

Thanks.

I lived in Kennett Square for 10 years (1988-1998) and found that the best group rides in your area were put on by the Brandywine Bike club, and the White clay bike club.
Brandywine's rides are mostly in Chester County while White Clay are around Newark, Del.

Great places to ride BTW.

The White Clay is probably a bit larger and puts on more events and probably a broader array of skill levels. The Brandywine club is mostly B-C level rides, which sound like what you're looking for, but they tend to stay a little east of Oxford (I've been on a few rides that have gone out that far - but none that started close to you). Check out both, but White Clay may be a better bet for you.

BTW, I live in West Chester, in the central part of Chester County. If you ride north and I ride west (which I generally do), we probably ride some of the same areas.

Thanks for the info, I'll have to check out both White Clay and Brandywine.

I get N and E of Oxford, but not quite as far as Kennett Square yet (I tend to do a lot in Cecil Co, MD, and up towards Cochranville). The traffic seems to get exponentially worse the further NE I go, so I tend to start off in a generally-SW direction on most of my rides.

I drive 842 from Kennett into West Chester quite a bit (I used to work at Chester County Hospital in West Chester, as a matter of fact), and see a TON of roadies out that way.

I'm sure I'll pass you out on the road someday...

I recently joined the White Clay Bicycle Club in Delaware. I don't think they are too far from where you are. Website is below.

Many different skill levels so you should be able to find your nitch.
