Where can you find a plain Jane Euro cruiser bike like you see all over Belgium, France, etc...? (It's for my wife) What make are they? I'm not interested in an Americanized version like Trek and Giant offer. Looking very generic bike, single speed, maybe an internal three speed. Any suggestions?

at any garage sale?

Or just build one out of an old '10speed'. Freewheel hub, bmx freewheel, and english bars is allyaneed. Might wanna add one of those springy-seats.
I'd classify that as a "European commuter bike".Humma Hah

... those furriners never COULD build a decent cruiser. Tires and frames way too skinny.

But they sold fairly well in this country for a while, in the 60's and 70's. Watch the garage sales and flea markets, you'll find 'em.

You may NOT have my wife's Higgins 3-speed, that meets your description. I've been known to ride it when mine is broken. Once I tuned it up and installed a more reasonable chainwheel, it turned out to be a pretty decent bike.
