Trainers or rollers?(4 posts)

Trainers or rollers?Hovis
Sep 30, 2002 3:03 AM
Just about to purchase a trainer or set of rollers in time for the bad weather, but can't seem to find much on the pros and cons of each (except for rollers being good for the technique). Is it still possible to do power / endurance training on rollers, or is this a rear wheel only cycle trainer's forte?

Cheers.

Haven't read the archives, but my own limited experience, I much prefer the rollers since it requires some skill and attention. There are ways to increase the resistance on rollers...some manufacturers have add-on units (Kreitler) while other riders recommend putting a towel underneath to increase the resistance. A search will give you a lot more info.
