Trying to decide on pedal. Comments please.

Speedplay:
probably has more float. good for knees.

Coombe:
no springs anywhere. looks to be very low maintenance. they'd better be, because the cleats are horribly expensive.

weight looks to be identical.

Even though I've never pulled out of my X-1's and X-2's, somehow I always come out of them in a crash. It doesn't look like you can pull out of Coombe's in any situation. Plus, they're SO expensive.

Do a search for "Coombe" and you'll get a few past discussions on this topic. I was looking for similar info recently, and I thought I bookmarked them, but can't find them, otherwise I would post them for you. RBR also has some user reviews of both Coombes and Speedplays in the reviews section. 100 reviews for Speedplay vs. 12 for Coombe:
