Campy vs. Shimano, chapter 1276
Shimano has only won the tour 4 times...ALL with Armstrongbriko51
Sep 28, 2002 6:16 AM
all other victories in the tour's history have been from Campy or another group...shimano got their first win in 1999 with lance armtstrong
Cool. But didn't Eddy Merckx ride a DeRosa? (nm)OffTheBack

yes but .....Spirito

he first rode frames made by Masi and then Colnago and lastly by de Rosa. of course they were labeled as different as the team Faema (esspresso machine manufacturer) bike (below) was labelled Bertin (?) but is clearly being carried by Masi.

these real frame makers were never a secret and Merckx never rode a frame from his own factory to success even though his later Molteni (sausage & meat smallgoods manufacturer) bikes labelled as merckx' would suggest so. the 5 wins by merckx were on 3 different bikes.

i would imagine a few others on the list to be wrong as well.

The Trek's used by Armstrong in 1999 were made by Litespeed.
