saw your posts re: new Fondriest. Hey african, which Fondriest did you get? Which other bikes were you considering? How many bikes do you have now??? Hey Akirasho, you are just plain sick, sick I tell ya!!! :^P Your P2K looks great but your new Klein is absolutely beautiful!!! What are some of the other steeds in your stable?? Please post pics of all your steeds so that they won't get jealous (and we can admire)!! I can't wait to read your impressions of the QPro and how it compares to some your other sweet rides I am sure you have. Especially since I have a '00 QRace that I am lookng to replace next summer. I'm 99% sure that I'll be going with the QPro, with 1% thinkng of a CAAD7, Prince, Fond Top Level, and Merckx Team SC. BTW, what the hell do you guys do for a living that allows you to collect such fine pieces of art???? Thanks and Ride ON!!!!

... this one is relatively benign...

Most of my rides can be seen at http://psycle-therapy.great-ride.com/my_rides_photons.htm

Alas, the Klein will sit for a bit before it's built... unless the Power Ball hits... but part of the fun is in having the option (I could cannibalize another bike for decent parts... or wait for a spankin' build). I still want to build up the Bianchi with Record... and want to see the complete 03' gruppo before I decide what to do.

Funny, but one of my riding partners is a psychologist... and we've "discussed" my obsessions... until I remind him of his multi K$ (and I do mean MULTI K$) sound system (with a bit of redundancy)... and his 5 bikes (whoops, make that 6).

It's a matter of perspective and scale... most folks piddle out monies on less tangible goods and services in amounts that rival what my bike budget is... and since many non cyclists still see bikes as toys... and equate their value to what they see at Wally Mart, my obsession seems more severe to them... but then, I can come to a board like this and preach to the choir... Church services will begin this Sunday morning at 9 am on the road less travelled.

... can I get an Amen and a Hallelujah?

We abide.

Remain In Light.

Be the bike.
Amen.Spunout

HI there. My ride sucked today, I hung on for the ride and then attacked the sprint and then tried the next sprint too and blew up big time. Sheez I need that Fondriest.

I was not considering a bike. I just got a colnago dream plus (geo paint job). I am very happy with it, but can't ride it much as I am in Ironman training (which means train less than everyone else and have more fun). So I have to ride my litespeed catalyst, which is a road bike with forward seat post and aero bars.

Then I found this Fondriest, here http://www.competitivecyclist.com/fondriest/tt/index.html

Well I bought that sucker faster than anything. I got the 54cm Alessandro's bike. Look at those bikes they are unreal!!

So that makes it 3 bikes and a surfboard. The litespeed is for sale after the Ironman Florida swim, bike, walk.

I have a web site that sells beads, belive it or not.
Ride safe.
Cheers.

What forward seatpost do you use? I just did my first tri a few weekends ago, and am still working on my aero position. Would like to experiment with a good forward post.

lol @ swim, bike, walk. For me, it's more like swim, bike, flop around and slam the pavement like a fish out of water.

I use a profile seat post (forward seat post). I like it but this was my only bike and I found on training rides it got a bit risky going around corners the back wheel tended to hop. I think this is due to too much weight being forward, very scary, and now I have a road bike as well.

I was also fitted on the bike with the forward seat post by the LBS.

I have been doing triathlons for just over 3 years and have got quite fast in the sprints. But this ironman training is just plain stupid. I have a life and plan to live a normanl life and do the ironman. Yeah ok so that means I walk from mile 6 on the run. Have a good one. Cheers.....
