I may be spending a few days out there the end of October.
I'm sure there is someone here who can suggest some good routes?

Thanks!
Better not be there Oct. 20!Alex-in-Evanston

Are you not coming to Rockford? How sad.

If you are looking for a fast group ride. Downtown at 10am Sat and Sun. Acacia park. Ride is usually 3 hours or so starts slow until you get out of town and then the hammer falls. There are lots of local pro's that occasionally show up ( some world champions even ). If you don't feel you can hang I would not go. You may get dropped a few miles from town, maybe bring a map.

Beautiful area. I did a century out there last year(http://www.emilygriffith.com/RR9ad.html) last year and really enjoyed the riding. I'd recommend the loop around the Air Force Academy (I assume you can still do that w/ security nowdays), the Black Forest region, and around Larkspur. There's a rough map in the link. I'm sure there's some Spring people on the board (jtolleson?) that will speak up. . .
