Velo jersey fit ?dmoller

Normally a PI medium jersey fits me perfect. Wife bought me a large Velo jersey (UGA team for any fellow Bulldogs) and it fits pretty snug. Sleeves are short, the zipper's very short and the body seems to be very narrow. I'm 5'6" and about 150. Does the cut of the jersey sound typical for them? Could go XL, or stick with the tried and true PI which I know fits great.
you are experiencing a race fit. Because you are not used to itbill

it feels a little strange, but, with your measurements, I'm quite sure that a large Voler "fits" you fine. I'm about 160, 5'8," and a large fits me. If you like that sort of thing.
PI's, and other mass-marketed jerseys size for the people who have been wearing larger, looser clothing since, since, since the eighties, come to think of it.

Bill's right, those jerseys are probably pro fit like most European jerseys. I wear a L in Pearl Izumi jerseys, and can wear L or XL in Volers, but have to wear an XXL in European sizes and even then they fit tight.

Does UGA actually have a cycling team? I don't remember that in my years there, although the Athens Twilight Criterium always attracted a good crowd of pro racers.
Didn't have one when I was there fromdmoller

1985-1987, but a search of one of the Univ. athletic websites had team info. It may be one of the "club" sports like lacrosse, etc.

The UGA cycling team has been around for a few years, and you're correct it is a club team and not a university sponsored sport (yet!). Here's the link to their site, but it appears to be under construction.

The Twilight is still held every year (April 24th-28th in 2003) and has become one of the premier races in the SE each year. It's always a great time to go over and watch the race, so try and check it out if you have a chance.

Go Dawgs!!

Large velo fits me, I'm 5'11" and 155. I like my jerseys tight. Nothing bugs me more than flapping fabric. Are you talking long sleeve? Sleeve length isn't an issue with me in a S/S jersey.

I do, however, prefer a longer zipper. Those "pro" style short zips are only to keep the riders from messing up their sponsors' logos. I, however, have no such concerns...
