Ya know, one of those radar trailers with the big numerals that flash when you're approaching them over the speed limit. They stuck it on a perfect 4-lane straightaway with a wide shoulder, and the posted is 35. I'm gonna take my roadie out and make those numbers flash [evil laugh].

Happy Friday youall, I'm going out to play...
and you get thin air to sprint in, too!DougSloan

Gotta do it and report back on your numbers. Set up a leadout and break 40. (Make sure no cars are close by, though, or the radar will probably read only the car.)

Have fun.

... our local one flashes your speed in yellow, but turns red when you exceed the limit by about 5 mph. I've managed to nudge one over the limit a few times. I keep trying to make one turn red.

Totally weird - they just did this to my street too, actually it's a block away.
I was trying out my commuter bike (fat slicks) and went by it at 21+ mph but
I'll be taking my roadie out to see what I can make it do. My wife's recumbent
didn't even register though (it's got a carbon steerer) - I wonder with all the
carbon on my roadie if I'll register.

The carbon will probobly register but its your body that sends the largest doppler signal.

... bridging over from Yellow Springs to Cedarville... doing a town limit sprint near the college... no carz... just three riders and those big beautiful red glowin' numbers telling the tale! We were only in violation for a few seconds though.

We abide.

Be the bike.

The way you all get so excited about seeing how fast you're going, you make it seem like you've never ridden with a speedometer before. Okay, I KNOW it's fun, but THAT much fun? When I lived in Germany there was a permanent one that was connected to a traffic light on a hill. Coming down the hill at anything over about 40 km/h would make the light turn red! We turned it red EVERY time we went through it (it was a steep hill). Lots of fun... :-)
I got 39 on one of those things.......nmafrican
