|Whaaaah! I'm missing the Tour de Canal!||Humma Hah|

|A couple of months ago I learned about a ride down the C&O Towpath from Cumberland MD to Washington DC. Two days, 160+ miles, unpaved but very flat trail, drops something like 750 ft in that distance. There never has been a more perfect off-road distance ride for my ancient cruiser.
Alas, I just moved to a new home, and have been FAR too busy to train for that ride.
A local TV weatherman is riding, and has been promoting it. Evidently only 100 people are doing it.
I'd love to see their reaction when I showed up with a 31-year-old MTB-converted cruiser! Its NOT a nutty idea: this is basically an easy cyclocross course, just very long. Weight is meaningless on a flat run like that, singlespeed is ideal, comfort is everything. I've done 152+ in a day on it, and I know it would do fine.
Next year for sure!
