i just recieved my new one !! anyone have tips or tricks? other than just use it!
The damn thing is so freakin' complicated........gogene

....and it's such a 'guy' thing not to read the manual, just to go ahead and push buttons. I found that the 'demo' on the CD that came with the HRM really works well to familiarize you with the 710. Also read the manual, from the beginning. Don't skip around. Also download the latest version of the software from Polar.

YA!! very complicated. i am looking at the manual and cd.
I hope there are a few shorcuts i can learn from the experienced owners...

....I had to read the manual, more than once, and play with the 710. And made mistakes, and had to call the help number twice. There are so many functions on it, you just have to winnow out what you want it to do for you.

Try to get accustomed to programming the 710 with your PC. That's where the power and convenience lies. Leave the buttons for the more simple jobs such as navigating and modifying functions and starting and stopping your training.

It sucks trying to get it to work at first. Just have the help mode on and that will help. Ideally though you'll want to get the computer upload though which can do all of that for you as well as download excercise files.
