... but he is still fast. This week-end is the cyclosportive bearing this guy's name (center). Here is my strategy -- stay on his wheel!! No, seriously, my goal is to do the 157 km in under 4:40. This fellow has lost some weight since this pic was taken 2 yrs ago so maybe he will be rubbing elbows at the front of the peleton. 3 yrs ago he finished in the top 50 (out of 1200) -- one word... respect!!

So, I'll send the waterbottle I get as schwag at this event to the first person who guesses my main leadout man's name!!!!

A+

That's Stephan Roach, Irelands only Tour winner and the last guy to win the Giro, Tour and Worlds all in the same year.

Yes ! but now since 4bkyn got the whole name down first, you only chance resides in the possibility that you live on another continent than him/her. So is it NAm or Europe?

sorry, I've had one N. American winner -- if I get something besides the complementary w-bottle at the race, I'll send it your way.

Say, if your heart is in the Alps, please have it say hello to my lungs. I left them there this summer! Seriously, I agree with you, some of the best riding in the world -- I try to get down there at least 2 times a year.
oops -- one prize for Europe, one for North/South America! (nm)philippec

He would never have won his Tour if LeMond hadn't been shot. And I'd still like to know where Hinault was that day.
Must be good to win the Giro, LeTour and Worlds in 1 year.MB1

He beat everybody that showed up. Can't ask for more than that.
