Interesting sighting of a TdF poster!4bykn

My little girl had her 8th birthday on Tuesday, same day the DVD of "Monsters, Inc." was released. We all sat down to watch it Wednesday night and at about 1:10:15 into the movie there was a Tour de France poster on a wall! I was a bit more excited than my daughter was about this, I had to freeze frame to show the whole family. They were not impressed. Anyway, I thought some of you might appreciate it. For those of you who are not familiar with the movie, it's an animated film.

My wife saw the French movie "Amelie" and told me there was a scene where the Tour rode past.
This movie looked entirely too much like a chik-flik for me to go, so I'll take her word for it. (It was probably just one or two guys on bicycles, but she would think it was the TdF!)

Anyone who hasn't seen "Amelie" ought to check it out when they can. Besides being a great film, it has more than just a casual scene containing the Tour de France. Being the French film that it is, many references to sports are about cycling, and the Tour de France. Also, there is a rather long scene where the lead character is watching TV, and on the TV is coverage of the Tour. The interesting part is that the footage used in this scene is that of the time when a horse ran alongside the peloton, and then jumped over a fence and followed the peloton down the road. This scene is shown briefly at one point in the movie, then more extensively later on.

Don't underestimate your wife.

I second that! Great movie that my girlfriend rented for us and I didn't regret it. By the way- what year was it when the horse ran along the peloton??
Take care

Cool! We just bought the DVD so I'll have to check that out.

Here's another nod for Amelie. A pretty cool movie and I
usually squirm when it comes to foreign films with substance.

I liked the Amelie character. She was kind of sneaky and
mischievous.
