I will be spending several weeks in Tucson this winter and would like to avoid the trial and error method of finding a good bike shop. I would welcome your recommendation.
Thanks.

I would suggest Fairwheel Bikes on 6th right on the south side of the university, always have had a good experience there.
Sabino Cycles, Fairwheels are both great. (nm)rtyszko

I manage a shop so when I was in Tuscon visiting my sister I looked at all the shops with a critical eye, kind of a hobby, where are they screwing it up and what are they doing that I can implement at my shop. Two shops struck me as doing it right, FullCycle on Broadway and Fairwheels. Fairwheels is a homey type shop with helpfull friendly staff including the owner who ride in the groups. FullCycle is more the chrome and glass mega chain store type of place but their staff is knowledgable and their inventory extensive. Both of these shops will help you feel right at home. Do "the shootout" on Saturday morning, climb Mt. Lemmon and have a piece of pie at the top, my favorite ride was the McCain loop with Gates Pass.
