Oh my word! I rode two miles home once after scraping up my shin on a fall (granted, it was the entire left side of my left calf--but not deep). My complete ride that day...4 miles. I can't begin to understand what would keep someone on a bike after something like that? My first priorities would be to get home, get cleaned up, call a significant other (or best friend if SO is not available) for comfort, then curl up with my favorite romantic comedy and a mocha. But to keep riding? Wow.

Who here would finish a race after sustaining that?
