|Really improved this year with the expanded technical section. It's a glossy mag with great pics, race news and the history of the sport (which I especially enjoy). But, it's always a month behind the times and it's got plenty of Lance, Lance and more Lance ("Can he come back for a FIFTH TIME!??") but there's plenty else to go with the Lance angle. I like it and if you're into the European race scene you'll probably like it too. There's not a lot of competition.|

|Beautiful magazine. Nice pictures, good articles on pro cyclists. After a while the names that Phil and Paul call out in the peleton become more familiar. They also include a decent tech section. All in all I like it a lot.|

|It's almost totally racing-oriented and it's expensive, but I've been a subscriber for a few years now. My biggest complaint is that it always arrives late (after the fact). I think they print it in the UK, and I guess they send it over by boat.
One of my favorite features is the historical article they do every month. It was "rare groove" riders for a while. Now it's "In the shadow of Eddy Merckx" and the companion "The day I beat Eddy Merckx."

|This month: Watson's double page photos are amazing.
Alexi Grewal: Drugs in the Peleton (they're all on the juice).
Why Lemond is better than Armstrong (again, drugs in the peleton). BTW, Lemond IS better than Armstrong.
These guys don't pull punches and the race coverage and photography is amazing.

|and emphasize that it is not a news magazine in the sense that you will feel kept up to date on the latest racing news. These days, only the internet sites can do that. But it offers better Euro coverage than Velonews, a lot of good photos and history, etc. It seems a bit pricey when renewal time rolls around, but I always re-up and get a free (older) WCP video. |
If you read French, Velo is a good alternative.

|Good mag, I've subscribed for about 3 years. Definite US/UK slant to the coverage. The history bits are nice. Alexi Grewal and Jonathan Vaughters are both regular contributers and are excellent writers. If you like Phil and Paul you'll like the mag. (I think that Phil owns it or has a hand in ownerhsip) You might ask around to see who reads Velonews to see how it compares. I've never read it. My only real complaint is that the mag can sometimes portray the Euro race scene as a Soap Opera, which come to think of it, it is.
