Hincapie took a flyer 25 miles before the finish. He eventually got caught, but his effort made for some great solo pics.

FYI- Here's snippet of Floyd's thoughts at the time this photo was taken:

"I keep thinkin' 'bout that night in San Francisco,
I thought I was in Heaven.
But I was stumblin' thru the streets
of an invisible Seven Eleven."

This was the last configuration of the lead group for the finish. Charles Dionne on the far right won in a sprint finish with Henk Vogels (Mercury) 2nd and Massimo Giunti (in the tiger strips) 3rd.
here are the rest of them....llbr22

Thanks for posting 'em! Man, they make my shots pale in comparison (which is not very hard to do.)

BTW, we have just put up a "SF Grand Prix" Photo Gallery here:

Feel free to post some of your pics here. I have moved some of your other pics in here already.

First off, those are some cool pictures. My question to you is, what kind of a camera did you take those pictures with?
Thanks again.
Canon D30llbr22

Thanks!!!

I used a Canon D30, w/ a 70-200mm 2.8 lens, and a speedlite 550 on 1 or 2 shots.

I would have had a few more shots to post if the Canon's autofocus wasn't so slow :(
