A Texas cyclist was killed yesterday through no fault of his own.

This accident took place is the heart of The Woodands, Texas where Wendy Crook raised the ire of cyclists nationwide for advocting violence against cyclists.

Two cars were westbound on TX 242 near FM 1488. The westbound lanes narrowed from two to one. Two cars were "racing" to get to the single lane first and hit. One vehicle went up on two wheels and crossed over into the eastbound lane striking another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction. The cyclist was also traveling in the opposite direction of the two racing cars. He was on a wide shoulder. The car traveling in the same direction as the bike was pushed into the cyclist throwing him 25 meters over the guadrail and killing him.

The cyclist did not have a chance. There was a guardrail there which would have prevented him from taking evasive action.

It took several hours to identify the cyclist because he was not carrying an ID.

Please be careful.

Our prayers are with him and his family. Be careful, let someone know around what time you'll be home and the generel route you'll be taking whenever it's possible and carry some I.D.

It could have been one of us...
