May I race my mountain bike in a USCF event just to prove to everyone I am the SUPERIOR rider, and equipment doesn't matter?
Not if you have bar ends. (nm)Spoke Wrench

Flat bars are not allowed in mass start events. Put some drops on it and you can.
just ride without bars ....Spirito

stuff the brake levers and gear shifters in your jersey pocket and use them if necessary. you will be more aero, lighter and will leave no doubt as to your bike handling skills as well.

that will wow them for sure and you can get around the uscf limitation for handlebars.

Also wear a HUGE Transalp Camelback with the double 100 bladders along with baggies and Black socks. Bunny-hop alot while warmimg up in your Granny Gear spinning like 200 cadence. Also try to use the words bunny hop and over the bars in every sentence.

Example "Man if I see a pothole I am gonna Bunny hop it"

Carry a big frame fit pump that doesn't quite fit right and then start messing with it once the racing has begun. Make some comment to the effect of "if this god d#*m thing falls off again I'm not stopping!"

Hope this helps

You must be joking, right?

Yup, throw on some drop bars and go for it. I can't wait to hear the results.

Show up with mega mud on your knobby tires so if you get any speed on you start throwing clods into the air. There won't be anyone behind you to worry about it.

PLEASE show up to USCF race that I'm attending. Don't worry about wasting your time trying to outfit a MTB. Just show up.
