I broke down and treated myself to new shoes. After reading all the posts about self ejecting screws all over the shoe, I removed the 2 suspect screws on the buckle and heal cleat to put a bit of teflon tape on the screws and returned them. Upon examining the screws, one had a blue substance and the other a bronze substance on it. Hmmm, looked like loctite to me.

I've had my Sidi's for a while now and not had any problems with the screws (or anything else for that matter!). One of the screws in the buckle was loose out of the box, so I tightened it. Since then I have ridden a thousand miles or so and all is well. Maybe the folks who had problems just put on the shoes and didn't check the tightness of the screws when they were installed. Anyway, the screws together and are the mort comfortable things I have ever owned. Wish I could figure out a way to wear them to work!
Great shoes, just have to go over the screws now and then. nmSpunout
